This Level 5 Women in Leadership, ILM Certificate in Leadership and Management, is designed  for practising ‘middle managers’ with experience managing and leading a team. It will help you to develop your skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities. A Level 3 certificate is also available for those just starting their management career. 

Designed by senior female leaders, you’ll cover specialist leadership and management topics to build your confidence and skills as a female manager. You’ll also benefit from engaging and practical workshops and to improve your self-awareness, leadership style, build your self belief and other units to equip you to manage conflict and complex teams with confidence.

Sessions are delivered weekly as online zoom sessions with real life, actual Skills Coaches (not pre-recorded powerpoints). You’ll take part in workshops and exercises and share your personal experiences and challenges with others on this journey. Alongside the core ILM units, you’ll take part in specialist workshops which gets under the skin of some of the biggest challenges facing women in the workplace. The result? You’ll have the skills, tools and mindset to face whatever comes your way.

Who is it for?

The course is suitable for practising ‘middle managers’ with experience managing and leading a team. It will help you to develop your skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.

 

 

Course Content:

On the course, we will explore the tools, theories and techniques to take your leadership and management skills to the next level. Building on your experience and practical knowledge, these will support your personal and professional growth and build team success. e introduced to tools, theories and processes to build confidence and improve management skills.

Units covered include: 

  • Understanding leadership
  • Leading and motivating a team (coaching) 
  • Understanding mental health
  • Understanding conflict management & how to have difficult conversations
  • Communications process in the workplace
  • Developing your own leadership style

Alongside the core units which make up this certificate, you’ll explore some of the specific challenges affecting women in the workplace. You will explore the cultural, legal and social contexts of these challenges, and some processes and tools for effectively managing them – either in a personal context, or as a leader/manager.  You’ll take part in workshops focussed on: 

  • Self-Advocation: getting what you want, Hepeating, Owning your power, getting your voice heard
  • The Glass Ceiling: PDP, Career Development, Goal Setting, Networking, 
  • Stereotyping 
  • Managing menopause 
  • Understanding and celebrating neurodiversity in the workplace
  • Building Resilience & GRIT 
  • Developing a Growth Mindset
