If you are looking to work and qualify as an Internal Quality Assurer, in workplace roles such as Hair and Beauty, Construction, or any accredited adult occupational competence, then the Level 4 Award in Internal Quality Assurance is designed for you.
As a practitioner, we will identify which units are best suited to meet your individual needs following an initial assessment/skills scan. Assessment activities may include
- working towards and understanding the principles and practices of internally assuring the quality of assessment
- assessment in your ability to observe your assessors, examining work products, written statements, witness testimonies, products of your IQA work, conducting standardisation
On completion of this qualification, you will have the professional competency and qualification to perform this role in your chosen sector.
What is covered?
The award is made up of 2 units that cover different activities so you can build up to the full qualification unit by unit. The units available are:
Unit 401 – Understanding the Principles and Practices of Internally Assuring the Quality of Assessment
A knowledge based unit for those wishing to start their journey as an internal quality assurance practitioner or for those who need to know about internal quality assurance but not carrying out quality assurance themselves. This unit can be undertaken as an individually, and for those wishing to undertake the full award may work towards:
Unit 402 – Internally Assure the Quality of Assessment
For practitioners who conduct internal quality assurance of the assessment process from within a centre or organisation, by sample planning, monitoring, and advising on the practice of assessors.
Exalt Training will allocate you a dedicated assessor who will be the person who will support you as you work towards your qualification. During your learning journey, you will receive regular communication, to deliver the required knowledge that may be conducted remotely and/or face to face. You will plan assessments in such things as completing assignments, observing your ability to assess learner performance, asking questions and evidence gathering.
Evidence can be uploaded to an e-portfolio which is available 24/7, using a computer or tablet. As you progress, informed assessment decisions will be provided about the work you submit with regular feedback on your performance.
