This qualification is ideal if you are have management responsibilities but no formal training, and are serious about developing your abilities. The course is built around the fundamental principles of management including; understanding how to organise and delegate, communication, team leadership, change, innovation and managing people and relationships. Your course will be tailored to meet your specific requirements.
Who is it for?
The course is suitable for managers, team leaders or supervisors who have had little or no formal training and would like to develop as leader. You may be working in a management role with your own team, or your manager may be preparing you for a future role.
Course Content:
During the course, your Skills Coach cover key management topics, theories and models, whilst equipping you with practical guidance on using these tools in the workplace. The units in this qualification fall into seven broad areas which form the basis of the teaching sessions and assignments. These are:
- core management skills – such as understanding how to organise and delegate
- ability to perform management tasks –manage projects, lead meetings
- team leadership – for example, how to motivate people to improve performance
- change and innovation – plan and manage change, create a culture of innovation
- a full range of communications skills – including managing feedback
- managing people and relationships – negotiation, networking, building relationships
- leadership – understand leadership, use action learning to develop your leadership capabilities.
