Who is it for?

If you work in, or you are  looking to work in assessment and/or internal quality assurance in the workplace or any accredited adult occupational competence, then the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is designed for you. Many of the individuals who we work with for this qualification work in adult care, early years or dental.

As a practitioner, you will understand the principles of assessment and use assessment methods that are best suited to your own needs informed by an initial assessment/skills scan that may include:

• observation, examining work products, oral questioning, and discussion, use of others for example witnesses, learner statements and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
• assessments in simulated environments, skills tests, oral and written questions, assignments, projects, case studies and RPL. This may take place in training workshops, classrooms, or other learning environments

What is covered?

The qualification is made up of several units and each unit covers a different activity so you can build up to the full qualification. There are three different types of units available:

• Unit 301 – Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practises of Assessment
• Unit 302 – Level 3 Award in Assessing Occupational Competence in the Work Environment
• Unit 303 – Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement

The qualification may be achieved in the following orders:

• Unit 301 (knowledge element only)
• Units 301 and 302 (knowledge and occupational competence)
• Units 301 and 303 (knowledge and vocational competence
• Units 301, 302 and 303 (Full Certificate)

Programme Structure

Exalt Training will allocate you a dedicated assessor who will be the person who will support you as you work towards your qualification. During your learning journey, you will receive regular communication, to deliver the required knowledge that may be conducted remotely and/or face to face. You will plan assessments in such things as completing assignments, observing your ability to assess learner performance, asking questions and evidence gathering.

Evidence can be uploaded to an e-portfolio which is available 24/7, using a computer or tablet. As you progress, informed assessment decisions will be provided about the work you submit with regular feedback on your performance.
