This qualification is suitable for learners already working in the early years sector in a managerial role, as well as learners that may wish to develop their career or increase understanding through professional development.
What is covered?
The aim of the Level 5 Diploma for the Early Years Senior Practitioner qualification is to support leadership and management skills in the early years and the knowledge and skills relating to the early years practice.
The Early Years Senior Practitioner will be a positive role model for the team. Through clear leadership and effective management, the Senior Practitioner will support and promote best practice within legislative requirements to enable quality provision. Working collaboratively with colleagues, other professionals and parents/carers the Senior Practitioner engages and motivates all involved for improved outcomes for babies and children.

What makes us unique is that we offer all our diploma learners the chance to access live teaching sessions as well as online guided learning. This provides a fantastic opportunity to learn with your peers, in real-time and to work with your skills coach. Many other providers only offer the scope for learning independently, so this is a great way to embed your specialist knowledge and skills.
Entry Requirements
Successful completion of a level 3 Early Years or childcare qualification are required to enrol on this course. The qualification is only available to candidates 16 years and older.
You will need to be working in an Early Years setting to apply for this course. This can be a full time, part-time or voluntary capacity.
This programme is suitable for overseas workers (non-UK residents) and there is no requirement for Level 2 Maths or English qualifications.
The natural progression will take candidates on to the Level 5 Diploma for Senior Early Years Practitioner once into a more senior position within an organisation. It can also be used to work towards access to a foundation degree or a BA Hons at university. Potentially teaching or health/medical professional with additional specialism qualifications.

No, although a benefit of diplomas over apprenticeships is that you don’t need residential status. It is required that you are working within the sector, either voluntary or otherwise so that you can be assessed.
We are enrolling now for an immediate start. After you have completed the application process which includes a short phone call, payment and set up of your online portfolio, you will be contacted by your new Skills Coach.
We recommend that you contact us as soon as possible so that we can ensure there is space reserved for you. We differ from other providers in that we provide live learning sessions and ongoing support from a dedicated Skills Coach, so we like to make sure that we can support your diary commitments.
You will have a dedicated Skills Coach for the duration of your diploma. These are experienced, qualified tutors/assessors who will provide you with teaching and ongoing support. They are on hand to answer your questions, queries and to help you every step of the way to achieve your qualification.
Occasionally you will be taught by other Skills Coaches who may have more specialist expertise in a specific area.
You will also be invited to attend other CPD opportunities to further enrich your development.
