The qualification content meets the Department for Education’s (DfE) Level 2 full and relevant criteria for a Level 2 Early Years Practitioner in the workforce.
This diploma is ideal for learners looking to work with children between birth and 5 years, and to gain knowledge of working with children up to 7 years. Learners do not need to have previous experience or qualifications in working with children to undertake this qualification.
This diploma is independently funded by the learner or the employer and is not subject to any Government funding or support. It is an alternative option to the Early Years Practitioner Apprenticeship which also meets the DofE requirements for training.
What is Covered?
You will be taught and assessed on the core foundations of support, care and educational programmes to support babies and young children. The diploma covers 14 mandatory units and the learner must achieve a total of 37 credits across these.
Teaching is delivered via monthly zoom sessions, supported with coaching sessions, e-portfolio development, online resources and peer engagement.
All units will be internally assessed using standard methods, such as professional discussions, workplace evidence, observations & assignments.

Learners may work under supervision in a variety of roles such as:
